Surprising Luncheon Choices

Lunch

Ladies and gentlemen! We have a new winner.

One of my favorite lunch and choices, has been offered at what is perhaps the furthest north I’ve ever seen it on the menu. Also, the fact that I saw it on the menu at a diner in a tiny little town in the middle of Minnesota, makes it all the more interesting.

No offense, but Kensington, Minnesota is far from a booming metropolis. The last I heard, they claim to have about 300 people living in town. But I’m sure that to get to that number they had to have included some of the livestock on the farm surrounding them. To put it mildly, Kensington is the quintessential small-town.

So imagine my surprise, to find something one is more likely to see in Miami or Tampa then in the frozen central Minnesota Landscape.

It’s not that I didn’t get it because I didn’t expect it to be excellent, everything at the Kensington Diner I’ve ever had has been excellent. It’s just that it was far more than I was really wanting to eat for lunch, so I settled on the chicken noodle soup.

Wherever you are today, I hope that you had a lovely lunch.
